How do I convert JPG to PNG online?

Upload your JPG or JPEG file, preview the result, click Convert to PNG and download the file. The whole process takes a few seconds and needs no signup.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?

No. Conversion keeps your image exactly as it is, but it cannot bring back detail lost when the JPG was compressed. The benefit is that further edits and saves will not lower the quality again.

Will my PNG have a transparent background?

No. A JPG has no transparency data, so the PNG keeps the same solid background. To make the background transparent, use our Background Remover after converting.

Why is my PNG bigger than my JPG?

PNG uses lossless compression and stores more image data than JPG, so the file is usually larger. If size matters, keep the JPG or compress the PNG afterwards.

Is JPG the same as JPEG?

Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same format. The short .jpg extension exists because older Windows versions only allowed three-letter extensions.

Is this JPG to PNG converter free and safe?

Yes. It is free, with no signup and no watermark. Uploaded and converted files are automatically deleted from our server after one hour, and we never share your images.
